
I decided to enter the local art competition and partly as an attempt to be noticed I did a Lino triptych printed the maximum allowable size. It was an example of go big or go home!
Each panel is A2 size, so it’s 1.3 m wide. The picture here is a photo of the final framed print, not the best photo with shadows and bright spots, but you get the idea.
Everyone who saw it thought it was great - just as well as I spent a month on it. It’s not technically superior, just bright and cheerful and eye catching.
The judge (a professor of fine arts I believe) thought differently and rejected it - so it wasn’t hung in the printmaking section, which was all I wanted. I am told that better works than mine were also rejected.
It now hangs at home and remains a talking point.
