


The originals of these are charcoal and watercolour, on thick acrylic 300 gsm paper using the rough side.
In digitising them I have gone for a monochrome aesthetic. I like the slight blue and black look though it may not be to everyone’s taste.
It’s interesting in that when loading them, and particularly the last one, at a small screen size the deckle in the paper matches the screen pixel size and so dominates and displays a swirling pattern. It disappears as one zooms in or enlarges the image. A function of screen resolution, but perhaps a note to self, use the smooth side next time!
The idea of blocks on the ground came to me in a dream. I have no idea of any hidden meaning or repressed Freudian tendencies.
