EVERYDAY DIGITAL ART
Lino. Photography. An archive of images.
I’m exploring my creative side after a career with numbers, creating colourful digital images through various media.
Use the post and homepage #hashtags to filter by media, theme or colour - or just explore randomly.
Lino prints are hand coloured and then digitally enhanced for colour balance.
Photography is straight out of camera.
There is a smattering of other media. Etching includes drypoint and tetra pack work, and together with ink works are similarly hand coloured before being photographed.
I’m calling this Everyday Art because I don’t pretend otherwise.
To each image I have added context notes, creating a history of my work. Naming has year and month to give an approximate timeline to the work, so I (and you) can see how it has developed over time. The good and the bad (well, there are gaps in the sequence so not the truly awful!) are all included.
My digital art (and stories) has been moved to dbwords.quotion.co
I’m not on social media yet.

0126 - 2024.10 Snow falling
Having photographed fruit in September I felt like doing some abstract work in October. There was no purpose to this design, the title came afterwards. #lino #abstract #yellow

To complete the session I got three of the models to sit together for a group shot. Delicious. #photo #still-life #red

Same notes as last few photos. The papaya just lay there, it was hard to find its best side. #photo #still-life #green

0122 - 2024.09 Coconut
Same notes as the last couple of photos. The coconut was interesting to photograph, and final print shows a slight tinge of brown that is less obvious here. #photo #still-life #black

0117 - 2024.09 Gymea Lily 1
I had the idea to do a Gymea Lily, noticing many of them coming into flower while walking the dog. This was a quick sketch to get my mind around the idea of what I may do. The original sketch (below)

0111 - 2024.07 Winter Flowers
This was an arrangement by my wife on the dining table. It was too nice not to do a Lino cut print. I have an A1 sized poster of this on the wall of my stairwell. It looks great! #lino #flower #red

0114 - 2024.08 Flame
I was thinking of a design that could be printed onto a cushion cover or a throw - something bright and abstract - and continuing the idea of a black background. I did a few cuts on lino and decided
