EVERYDAY DIGITAL ART
Lino. Photography. An archive of images.
I’m exploring my creative side after a career with numbers, creating colourful digital images through various media.
Use the post and homepage #hashtags to filter by media, theme or colour - or just explore randomly.
Lino prints are hand coloured and then digitally enhanced for colour balance.
Photography is straight out of camera.
There is a smattering of other media. Etching includes drypoint and tetra pack work, and together with ink works are similarly hand coloured before being photographed.
I’m calling this Everyday Art because I don’t pretend otherwise.
To each image I have added context notes, creating a history of my work. Naming has year and month to give an approximate timeline to the work, so I (and you) can see how it has developed over time. The good and the bad (well, there are gaps in the sequence so not the truly awful!) are all included.
My digital art (and stories) has been moved to dbwords.quotion.co
I’m not on social media yet.

0116 - 2024.09 Flower Mandala
A case here where the technical execution did not match the mental vision. It’s pretty enough in a bright colourful way. That’s all I’ll say. #lino #flower #colours

After my Lino design I thought I would try a drypoint version. The plant is on my garden, one of two varieties we have planted. It shows how the stamens open progressively for the honey eating birds

The grevillea has become my favourite plant and it took some time to work out a design for its oh-so-interesting flowers. They progressively open to release their nectar to the honey-eaters, maximisi

I decided to enter the local art competition and partly as an attempt to be noticed I did a Lino triptych printed the maximum allowable size. It was an example of go big or go home! Each panel is A2

After my first mountain, I practiced some more, playing with pen, ink and water colour. This is a selection, just photos of my notebook. #ink #landscape

On a whim I purchased some Indian Ink and some nibs and this is one of the first drawings I did with the broad nib. Beginners luck, not everything I’ve done since has the same simplicity. #ink #lands

0100 - 2024.06 Ever Changing Ocean
“Anyone who has been to sea - proper sea that is - will tell you that the sea, the ocean if you go far enough, is not a single blue. It can be, it depends on the sky, the amount of cloud,

0097 - 2024.05 Red Tulip
I did a batch of tetra pack prints to see how they came out, different papers and inking, all at home without a commercial press. Red tulip was the best. It has a quaint likability to it. Second best

Continuing my run of dry point work I did a few more grass plants collected on the daily dog walk. #drypoint_etch #plant #black
