EVERYDAY DIGITAL ART
Lino. Photography. An archive of images.
I’m exploring my creative side after a career with numbers, creating colourful digital images through various media.
Use the post and homepage #hashtags to filter by media, theme or colour - or just explore randomly.
Lino prints are hand coloured and then digitally enhanced for colour balance.
Photography is straight out of camera.
There is a smattering of other media. Etching includes drypoint and tetra pack work, and together with ink works are similarly hand coloured before being photographed.
I’m calling this Everyday Art because I don’t pretend otherwise.
To each image I have added context notes, creating a history of my work. Naming has year and month to give an approximate timeline to the work, so I (and you) can see how it has developed over time. The good and the bad (well, there are gaps in the sequence so not the truly awful!) are all included.
My digital art (and stories) has been moved to dbwords.quotion.co
I’m not on social media yet.

An experimental Lino print for seeing how the effect of distance can work. I colour the black and white print digitally - not my usual watercoloring - to see the effect, which is the bright print ab

When I first created and printed this I was not sure about it. But in adding it to the archive I had another go at colour balancing and the brighter image, while not as true to life, has more “pop”.

A drypoint etch from collected plant cuttings, printed at 1:1 size. Pleasant enough but lack oomph. Interestingly this is one of my last drypoints - did I subconsciously lose interest, or was it sim

Spring flowers in a nice vase formed the basis of this still life, all flowers coming from the garden. #lino #flower #yellow

I was playing around with Japanese calligraphy paper when I printed this one. It’s not a bad composition, and I tried different styles of cutting for the trees. But the smudges in the dark area look

A winter flowering plant, Strelitzia is an impressive sight. It took me a few attempts to get this right, especially the colouring that I had all wrong initially. The background for such a design didn

Not one of my best, I was having fun drawing a maze on a piece of blue Lino. The print was ordinary, and then I coloured it in bright colours. I thought of making each segment a district colour, but

I carved a simple Forest in Lino, an imaginary scene as there is nothing like this where I live. Then I made several versions of it , representing the seasons. Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer. Easy
