EVERYDAY DIGITAL ART
Lino. Photography. An archive of images.
I’m exploring my creative side after a career with numbers, creating colourful digital images through various media.
Use the post and homepage #hashtags to filter by media, theme or colour - or just explore randomly.
Lino prints are hand coloured and then digitally enhanced for colour balance.
Photography is straight out of camera.
There is a smattering of other media. Etching includes drypoint and tetra pack work, and together with ink works are similarly hand coloured before being photographed.
I’m calling this Everyday Art because I don’t pretend otherwise.
To each image I have added context notes, creating a history of my work. Naming has year and month to give an approximate timeline to the work, so I (and you) can see how it has developed over time. The good and the bad (well, there are gaps in the sequence so not the truly awful!) are all included.
My digital art (and stories) has been moved to dbwords.quotion.co
I’m not on social media yet.

A few wriggly pen lines, and a bit of colour, the impression of mountains on the horizon. Just playing around. ———————————————————— Technique: #draw Theme: #landscape Highlight colour: #black #yello

Another in the series, this time I’ve actually done a Lino print with watercolour, and brightened digitally. What’s at the bottom? ———————————————————— Technique: #lino Theme: #abstract Highlight col

The hand drawn digital prints (like 0304 and 0300) are lovely and bright, but lack texture. This is from a charcoal drawing, water coloured in grey, pale red and a muted yellow, with a little blue Ju

In my mind’s eye this should have turned out better, but it didn’t. This was the napkin sketch. In a strange way it’s got more feeling, though it could be an orange waterfall, from high peaks framed

Looking out the window of an old prison, up at the blue sky of freedom. A napkin sketch (I’ve been doing a few of these lately) scanned and digitally coloured in a background layer. I don’t think I w

This bears no relationship to the inspiration, a simple drawing of two hills in muted greys. Done in print class with a limited range of Akua colours to choose from - and not the yellows I was planni

I scratched this on a napkin while out and about, like so: Which became this on my phone: This is one of those prints that I think could be better, but I’m not sure how many iterations that would t

Tried another multi piece Lino print. Had trouble thinning the ink so it went on too thick, not helped by the small pieces and trying to avoid inking my fingers. Here’s the pieces, assembled The gho

With our regular teacher overseas, the substitute teacher had us doing monoprints. It’s quite good fun but I find laying out bits of shrubbery and inking them up is less creative than designing for L
