EVERYDAY DIGITAL ART
Lino. Photography. An archive of images.
I’m exploring my creative side after a career with numbers, creating colourful digital images through various media.
Use the post and homepage #hashtags to filter by media, theme or colour - or just explore randomly.
Lino prints are hand coloured and then digitally enhanced for colour balance.
Photography is straight out of camera.
There is a smattering of other media. Etching includes drypoint and tetra pack work, and together with ink works are similarly hand coloured before being photographed.
I’m calling this Everyday Art because I don’t pretend otherwise.
To each image I have added context notes, creating a history of my work. Naming has year and month to give an approximate timeline to the work, so I (and you) can see how it has developed over time. The good and the bad (well, there are gaps in the sequence so not the truly awful!) are all included.
My digital art (and stories) has been moved to dbwords.quotion.co
I’m not on social media yet.

0175 - 2024.04 Cooma Rocks 1
Boulders litter the Monaro Plains driving into Cooma, I sketched this one from memory and did a Lino print. The two are coloured slightly differently. #lino #landscape #yellow

0176 - 2025.04 White mountains
I imagined what a sawtooth chain of snow covered mountains would look like from the sea. Could be the Antarctic or Patagonia, Alaska or Kamchatka. Places I have never been and never likely to go to.

Exploring landscapes. Ink and a little watercolour, in two versions. Not happy either either of them, but there you go. #ink #landscape #green

0167 - 2025.04 Beach tents
Playing around with pen and ink and coloured pencil. With little perspective, the tents have the same roofline and so get taller as the beach falls away. It seems I am always “playing around“ with pe

0166 - 2025.04 Bird Face
A simple ink drawing with a little colour. The original is very small, about 5 x 5 cm (or 2 x 2 in the old money). #ink #bird #white #micro-art

One of the joys of being a grandparent is having a grandson for whom one can create a little art. In the blog heading I refer to what I do as being “everyday art”. This is the perfect example. A sket

0125 - Gymea Lily 2
Pursuing my idea of a Gymea Lily, I crafted a small (30 cm) Lino as a design mock up. The flower on the lily is quite tricky to reduce to a few lines, especially at the small size of print I was tr

Playing around with pen and ink, just doodling. Probably shouldn’t be in the archive but they are not horrible either. #ink #tree #green

0158 - 2025.03 After the Rain
A bit of an experiment trying to depict the countryside after rain has fallen. I did a number of prints, most of them unsatisfactory, and just showing the best one here. #tetra_etch #landscape #black
