EVERYDAY DIGITAL ART
Lino. Photography. An archive of images.
I’m exploring my creative side after a career with numbers, creating colourful digital images through various media.
Use the post and homepage #hashtags to filter by media, theme or colour - or just explore randomly.
Lino prints are hand coloured and then digitally enhanced for colour balance.
Photography is straight out of camera.
There is a smattering of other media. Etching includes drypoint and tetra pack work, and together with ink works are similarly hand coloured before being photographed.
I’m calling this Everyday Art because I don’t pretend otherwise.
To each image I have added context notes, creating a history of my work. Naming has year and month to give an approximate timeline to the work, so I (and you) can see how it has developed over time. The good and the bad (well, there are gaps in the sequence so not the truly awful!) are all included.
My digital art (and stories) has been moved to dbwords.quotion.co
I’m not on social media yet.

A drypoint etching, hand coloured. I used a clipping taken from our plant and traced it (with some difficulty) since I’m not that great at copying. I also fund a random plant at the same time (didn’

0091 - 2025.05 Pear and Apple
If three pears are good then is a pear plant that and an apple better? I don’t think so! Very simple with little nuance. Keeping up the skills. #drypoint_etch #still-life #black

Experimenting with a still life, I also did this as a tetra pack but wasn’t happy with the result, so it’s not in this archive. I did water colour the final print but have chosen to show just the bla

0084 - 2024.05 Two Cranky Cockatoos
Cockatoos are beautiful birds and renowned for being very smart. Feed than at your peril, for they can be destructive. My window frames bear witness to teeth marks. When they set their eyes on you, w

I was trying to catch that moment at the end of the day when the sun picks out from under a dark cloud. I used my drypoint technique with plenty of leftover ink and some watercolour. The first pictu

Same technique as The Bridge, done at the same time. Though I wonder if the original print isn’t better, though it isn’t flipped so north is left and south is right, observing from the harbour. #dry

Back to the drypoint , a view of my local bridge looking eastward, with a little watercolour. It’s not going to win any prizes, I was mostly keeping my hand in on this technique as I had not done it

This was a woodcut, not an original design but a trial of a technique other than Lino cut. I printed on cheap paper which may be why the print isn’t the best. I found getting clean edges and detail t

0076 - 2024.02 Class project 1
As I’m still learning and go to class, occasionally we do a class project. This one was for postcards as the size constraint, food as the topic. I did four designs, the first two were displayed. Orang
